Seth MacFarlane‘s Ted was basically a raunchy live-action version of Family Guy, and his sophomore directorial effort, A Million Ways to Die In The West, is more or less the same thing but set in the Wild West — not that there’s anything wrong with that since Ted proved to be a bonafide hit at the box office.
The first set of posters was revealed this week, and now Universal has released the first trailer from the film. Hit the jump to see it.
We finally get to see MacFarlane’s face in a real movie. Most of the time the actor has been relegated to voice-over duties, most notablely when he made his directorial debut in Ted, where he voiced the titular character. Not sure if anything will really change since there are a lot of gags and laughs in this trailer, which pretty much tells us that this will be a good film.
Starring Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman, Giovanni Ribisi, and Neil Patrick Harris, A Million Ways to Die in the West opens in theaters on May 30.
Seth MacFarlane directs, produces, co-writes and plays the role of the cowardly sheep farmer Albert in A Million Ways to Die in the West. After Albert backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test.
