Horror movies have often turned to animals to be played up as their villain or antagonist, whether they are prehistoric, mutated, science experiments, or just plain angry, but rarely do they get the undead treatment. If you’ve been clamoring for some zombified fauna since Pet Sematary or Killing Birds, have I got a treat for you!
Coming from the producers of Cabin Fever and The Ring, Zombeavers is a low-budget horror-comedy that pits zombified beavers (in puppet form) against the well-worn trope of college kids staying in a cabin for the weekend. You can check out the official synopsis and the trailer here below.
Zombeavers is an action-packed horror/comedy in which a group of college kids staying at a riverside cabin are menaced by a swarm of deadly zombie beavers. A weekend of sex and debauchery soon turns gruesome as the beavers close in on the kids. Riding the line between scary, sexy and funny, the kids are soon fighting for their lives in a desperate attempt to fend off the hoard of beavers that attack them in and around their cabin.
Zombeavers is currently being shown at the European Film Market festival in Berlin.
