If the family comedy Mrs. Doubtfire were a human being, it would be old enough to drink come this fall. That is to say, everyone involved in the movie is much older now.
Even so, it’s being reported that a sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire is being attempted once again. Original star Robin Williams and director Chris Columbus are both attached to the project, and Elf screenwriter David Berenbaum is penning the script.
Mrs. Doubtfire tells the story of an actor and divorced man (Williams) who dresses up as an old Scottish woman in order to land a job as the nanny for his three children as a desperate attempt to spend more time with them.
It’s unclear what story the sequel will tell or what reason will lead Williams’ character to become Doubtfire once again.
