Back in May, Disney gave their classic animated hit Aladdin a live-action makeover by director Guy Ritchie. Now, both versions of the film will be getting a release on Digital, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD this Summer.
Both versions of the film will be released to Digital and Movies Anywhere on August 27, 2019 and in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD edition on September 10, 2019. The 1992 animated film will be a part of the studio’s Walt Disney Signature Collection, and will be available for the first time in 4K Ultra HD.
The animated film edition will also include all new bonus content, including alternate endings, brand-new sing-along version, and original cast recordings, along with the classic bonus material, while the live-action edition will includes bonus features, such as deleted scenes, a blooper reel, and more.
Will Smith, Naomi Scott, and Mena Massoud star in this year’s live-action version. The home release will include an all-new song called “Desert Moon,” which was deleted from the theatrical version. The new song was written by multiple Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and award-winning songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Those who pre-purchase the live-action film will receive a feature showcasing the making of the musical number “Prince Ali,” while those who get the film first on Digital will get an exclusive extra detailing the creation of Jasmine’s new song “Speechless.”
