Fox has decided to cancel Almost Human, the J.J. Abrams-produced TV show starring Karl Urban and Michael Ealy, after just one season.
The show was set in the year 2048 in a time where crime has overwhelmed the authorities, leading them to implement a new policy forcing all human police officers to be partnered with a human-like android.
Almost Human didn’t take off as well as hoped, despite a strong critical reception, and cancellation seemed like a strong possibility. But growing numbers, capped off by a strong finale in March that matched the recent season finale of The Following—a show that has already been renewed for a third season by Fox—had fans of the series hoping it would be enough to warrant at least a second season.
Another reason that may have contributed to the decision is some of the potential new series Fox has lined up, such as The Red Band Society, Empire, and the Batman prequel series, Gotham, all of which are only in pilot phase at the moment but are considered to be strong contenders for full season pick ups.

I hate it when Sci-Fi meets Fox…. They mess with and then cancel good shows… Fox would rather have bad comedies and rip off dramas instead of good Sci-Fi… Somebody at Fox hates Science Fiction….

Ah Fox, you guys suck. You have canceled every single Scifi show I’ve ever liked.

That’s too bad. It wasn’t a brilliant series, but it had potential, and I thought it deserved a Season 2.

It was Fox’s fault they had less than great ratings anyway–they constantly screwed up broadcasting schedules and releases for the show. It got so bad I gave up on the live showings because they were out of order, not well advertised (too much or too little information) or on at weird times each week.
I just wish Fox would be responsible enough to handle their property. They are like little kids with a flame thrower who cry anytime they get burned.

Lets see- Fox 0 and Sci-Fi 4. 1)Firefly. 2)I don’t remember the name but it had “Chigs” and Space Marines. 3)The one with that super genetically enhanced hot-tie set in Seattle. 4)Almost Human.
What does fox think we want more Vampire/Glee/Voice crap- so sad.

I knew it! Hubby and I have been saying, it’s Fox, so they’ll probably cancel it. Dammit.

Space Marines…. I believe you are talking about “Space Above and Beyond.” That show had some potential. Evidently too much potential for Fox to handle.

3. I think you mean Dark Angel.

This makes me so sad, but then as someone else said, it is Fox – they cancel the good sci-fi shows. Is there any chance Syfy might pick it up?

Really liked this show; watched it every week. I agree with most of the commenators here about FOX and sci-fi shows.

No more FOX for me. Unless they bring it back. Was the only thing I could watch with my kids on that channel. Why do they even pick up sci-fi if they kill it. FIREFLY again

Frakkin hell. Someone else better pick this up

2) I believe the name of the show is Space Above and Beyond.
