Warner Brothers Studios has announced that the Man of Steel sequel, known up until now as Batman vs. Superman, will officially be Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. It’s funny how this title is not only a play on the former tentative title, but the official subtitle is also a play on the Justice League film itself – if it’s even called that anymore.
In addition to the title announcement, an official logo for the movie has also been released. You can see that, plus reaction to the title, below.
Honestly, it feels like we are all being punked for some reason. Not only is it a bit wordy, and makes the hashtags longer, or a confusing acronym, or really bad captcha if you were to capitalize all the nouns. The thing is, the additional subtitle shows they are desperate to catch up to Marvel Studios. I get that they are trying to make the upcoming film as enticing as possible, but let’s face it, it sounded promising just as Batman vs. Superman.
The overall response to this has been mixed to negative, with the internet already unleashing its wrath by making a mockery of the subtitle. And can you blame them?
Just remember, it's always darkest before dawn (of justice).
