The Millennium Films’ The Legend Of Hercules is nothing but a distant memory, long to be forgotten. However Brett Ranter‘s upcoming film, Hercules, starring Dwayne Johnson may leave a slightly bigger impact on you.
Paramount Pictures has released a brand new trailer for the film featuring Johnson fighting all sorts of large beasts ranging from jungle animal to mythical. Here we get a more plot-focused trailer which will tell the tale of how Hercules went from muscular humble husband to avenging demi-god. Hit the jump to see the full trailer.
Sure it may be a flashy trailer, but honestly it looks a lot better than Renny Harlin’s The Legend of Hercules, starring Kellen Lutz. Even with all the mythical CGI mayhem, Johnson wearing the Nemean lion skin, while battling the likes of a giant boar and hydra looks like something worth watching.
Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend”¦
Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail”¦ he must again become the hero he once was”¦ he must embrace his own myth”¦ he must be Hercules.
Also starring John Hurt, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, and Peter Mullan, Hercules opens in theaters on July 25. IGN debuted the trailer.
