The cast of Ted 2, the follow-up to Family Guy and American Dad! creator Seth MacFarlane‘s hit live-action directorial debut, has gained the services of a legend.
The Shawshank Redemption and Unforgiven star Morgan Freeman has joined the comedy, playing a civil rights lawyer who helps Ted, the loveable talking teddy bear with a bit of a potty mouth, when he gets into a little legal trouble.
MacFarlane is returning as writer, director, and the voice of Ted, and Mark Wahlberg and most of the rest of the original cast is also back. MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West co-star Amanda Seyfried has a role as well, joining Freeman as a newcomer.
Where the sequel’s story will take us has not yet been shared, but the movie is already filming in Boston and has a June 26, 2015 release date currently locked in.
Helping MacFarlane pen the script is Family Guy writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, who also co-wrote the original and A Million Ways to Die in the West.
