Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Basterds, Rush) has just signed on for a mystery role in Captain America: Civil War. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige made the announcement yesterday on Marvel.com. Bruhl be joined by MCU veterans Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. The film will also introduce Chadwick Boseman (42) as Black Panther.
Hit the jump to read Feige’s comments and ringing endorsement.
“With Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes,” said Producer Kevin Feige.
So the comment doesn’t exactly shed light on if Daniel’s role in the film. Will he fight on Captain America’s side or Iron Man’s side, or if he will be a villain watching our heroes destroy each other. Or will it just be a supporting role? We don’t really know for sure. If anything the clues could be hidden in Avengers: Age of Ultron, since the events in that film will set up Captain America: Civil War.
Bruhl has had some outstanding performances in the past He played as a celebrated Nazi sniper who met a very unfortunate end in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, and as racing legend Niki Lauda in director Ron Howard’s Rush.
