Production for Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice wrapped last Friday, leaving us about a year and a few months of waiting to see what Warner Bros has planned for us for their DC universe. We sort of got an idea when the studio released the official DC slate, that included many iconic heroes, one of which is Aquaman.
Jason Momoa will play the king of Atlantis, and founding member of the Justice League, which is probably why he has a cameo role in the upcoming film. Now a majority of these large cinema arcs is that the actors who play these characters sign major deals that lock them in four a number of films. This is no different for Momoa, who has reportedly signed on for four films. He also expressed interest in having Zack Snyder as director of the Aquaman solo movie. Hit the jump for more.
Momoa confirmed the news at a Comic-Con Experience in Brazil recently. While he didn’t explicitly state how many films he is signed on for, the DCU Movie page revealed the exact number.
The actor is also a huge fan of Snyder, and says that he wants him to direct the film.
Some were concerned about why WB and DC picked Aquaman to be a member of the cinematic Justice League, and Momoa assure attendees that “Aquaman will be bad-ass.”
Assuming that he is truly signed on for the four picture deal, that would mean it includes Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which debuts in theaters on March 25, 2016. As well as the two-part Justice League film opening 2017 and 2019; and the solo Aquaman film, which opens in 2018.
