Steamy new photos have been released from the upcoming drama I Am Michael of its stars James Franco, Zachary Quinto, and Charlie Carver in a threesome, as well as one of Franco and Quinto kissing.
In this true-life story from director Justin Kelly, which premieres tomorrow at the Sundance Film Festival, Franco (The Interview) is Michael Glatze, a gay activist turned Christian pastor who goes on to denounce homosexuality. Quinto (Star Trek, The Slap) plays Michael’s one-time boyfriend Bennett, while Carver (The Leftovers) is Tyler, a man who was romantically involved with Michael and Bennett. Emma Roberts plays a young Christian woman who Michael falls in love with after his conversion, with Daryl Hannah as the woman who runs a Colorado Buddhist retreat where Michael goes.
Franco posted the photo to his Instagram account of him and Quinto, who is gay in real life, kissing. Check out the two aforementioned photos, as well as other stills from the film, here below.
The 36-year-old Franco, who made headlines recently with his controversial comedy The Interview, has several films in the works for 2015, some of which he will also serve as director and/or writer: True Story, Every Thing Will Be Fine, Bukowski, Queen of the Desert, The Adderall Diaries, Zeroville, The Labyrinth, Yosemite, Memoria. The 37-year-old Quinto, best known for his role as Spock in J.J. Abrams’ rebooted Star Trek films, is currently starring in NBC’s television series The Slap and will next appear on the big screen in the 2015 spy-thriller Hitman: Agent 47, based on the Hitman video game series, and will return for Star Trek 3.
