Guillermo Del Toro‘s Crimson Peak is the big budget gothic-horror film that touts an all-star cast that consists of Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, and Charlie Hunnam. The Victorian house that was built to use as the film’s setting is an actual three-story house, complete with a functioning elevator, bathrooms, and full library, which looks so devilishly creepy, it may very well be haunted.
Now, Legendary and Universal have released the teaser trailer for Crimson Peak that is sure to give us scares beyond compare and make us believe that “ghosts are real.” Hit the jump to check it out, as well as images from the film and a new poster.
The period piece combines romance and horror with very beautiful costumes and set pieces. In the film Mia Wasikowska falls in love with a young suitor (Tom Hiddleston), and begins to unravel the dark secrets of his manor. There will be a lot of twists and turns, but if anything, it looks like Guillermo Del Toro is going back to his psychological thriller roots, and doing it in a very big way.
