Last month, we got the first trailer for the upcoming third season of House Of Cards, the Netflix original political drama starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.
With the launch of Season 3 quickly approaching, the streaming network has released a new promo entitled “White House Portrait.” Watch the promo here below, and also check out the motion poster.
If you’re not caught up with the series, Season 1 and Season 2 are available now on DVD and Blu-ray as well as through Amazon Instant Video and Netflix streaming. Season 3 launches on Netflix on February 27, 2015. If you’re still catching up, then hold off on watching the trailer and promo because there’s major changes coming this season. Spoilers below.
Season 3 of the popular series will see Spacey return as Frank Underwood, aka President Underwood!!! Robin Wright returns as well as his partner-in-crime wife and now First Lady Claire. Stakes have never been so high as they are right now for the couple, who fought and scratched and clawed and killed their way to the top position in Washington, DC, and into the oval office. With so many secrets and skeletons in their closet, they’ll really have to watch their step now. The new promo video sees Frank and Claire at the White House sitting for a photographer who’s taking their official portrait. As Frank places his hand on Claire’s shoulder, she reacts ever so slightly, but her husband knows how to read her. He sees this as her recoiling from his touch. But why? We don’t know at this point because as usual, she brushes off what’s really going on, in favor of living her life on the surface, doing anything to save face and stay on top. With their history and all they’ve done together, what could possibly have happened to make her flinch at her husband’s touch, even if it was such a subtle movement?
