Assyrian blackened thrash lords Melechesh are gearing up for the release of their sixth full-length album, Enki, on February 27th (Europe), March 2nd (UK), and March 10th (North America), via Nuclear Blast Records.
Fortunately, if you’re as excited for Enki as I am, the entire album is available to stream for a limited time via Nuclear Blast’s YouTube channel. Check it out here below.
Enki features guest appearances from Max Cavalera (Sepultura, Soulfly, Nailbomb, Cavalera Conspiracy, Killer Be Killed) on the track “Lost Tribes”; Rotting Christ singer Sakis Tolis on “Enki – Divine Nature Awoken”; and Volbeat guitarist Rob Caggiano lending a solo to “The Palm, The Eye And Lapis Lazuli.”
The album is the follow-up to Melechesh’s 2010 masterpiece The Epigenesis, an album that Max Cavalera calls “…one of the greatest extreme metal records ever done!”
High praise from the master indeed. But as great as The Epigenesis is, I think Melechesh have outdone themselves. Have a listen to Enki and I think you might just see his point. This is a pretty freakin’ kick ass record. Check it out and let me know what you think.
