SPOILERS for Better Call Saul Episode 1.3 “Nacho.” AMC’s Better Call Saul Episode 1.3 “Nacho” aired last night and dealt with Jimmy McGill’s (Bob Odenkirk) reaction to Nacho’s plans to rob the Kettleman’s of the million-plus dollars that they had stolen from the county and were about to be indicted for. AMC has released the “most talked about scene” from the episode, which involves Jimmy’s search for the Kettleman family. The network has also released a 5-minute behind-the-scenes “Inside Look” at the episode which starts out explaining a bit about the opening flashback sequence from 1992 when Jimmy was in a heap of trouble, and then explores his current-day (2002) situation with Nacho and The Kettlemans. You can watch all the videos here below.

We pretty much kept you up to date on Sunday night into Monday morning with our SNL 40 coverage. NBC broadcast the 3 1/2-hour Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special, which featured some of today’s biggest celebrities, past show hosts, past and present cast members, and musical guests. Amongst the returning cast members was Jimmy Fallon, current host of NBC’s The Tonight Show. Fallon and pal Justin Timberlake did a cold open rap to kick off the show, and Fallon was highlighted in several flashback reels. On Monday night’s episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, which, like SNL, is recorded from the studios at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, the host reminisced about the amazing night. Along with red carpet arrivals, there was also an after-party that featured some all-star jams, including one Fallon did with Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney, as well as a mind-blowing appearance by Prince. Check out the 9-minute video here below of Fallon talking about the After Party, as well as some snippets from the various jam sessions, which included Fallon, Swift, and McCartney doing The Beatles “I Saw Her Standing There” and Swift’s recent hit “Shake It Off.” There’s also Instagram video of Bill Murray playing tambourine; Prince doing “Let’s Go Crazy,” and the B-52’s doing “Love Shack.”

We’re already through three episodes of the AMC original series Better Call Saul, with Bob Odenkirk reprising his role from Breaking Bad. In the first episode, which premiered on February 8, 2015, we were re-introduced to the character, who, for this prequel series, is known by his real name Jimmy McGill. The first two episodes gave us just a tiny glimpse of the character’s post-Bad whereabouts, with the majority of the events of the series so far taking place in 2002 when Jimmy was a struggling public defender before he became the shady strip-mall lawyer Saul Goodman with the popular “Better Call Saul” billboard and bench ads and TV commercials. Episode 1.3 “Nacho,” which began with a flashback to Jimmy’s situation back in 1992, was mostly about Nacho’s grand plans to rob the Kettleman family and how Jimmy was going to handle it — would he join Nacho for the robbery or try to prevent the crime? Episode 4, “Hero,” will address the direct fall-out from the events of Episode 1.3, and will see Jimmy trying to explain to Nacho that every decision he made was for the greater good. How will Nacho react? Check out the preview photos and video here below for Episode 1.4 “Hero.”

Better Call Saul
Episode 1.3 “Nacho”
Directed by Terry McDonough
Written Thomas Schnauz
Starring Bob Odenkirk, Michael McKean, Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Michael Mando, Patrick Fabian
AMC
Air Date: Monday, February 16, 2015, 10pm We all know Saul Goodman, the criminal lawyer — not criminal lawyer, from AMC’s mega-hit Breaking Bad. He’s unscrupulous, he’s shady, he’s somewhat cheesy, and he’s got a lot of underground connections, schemes, and burner cell phones. He knows how to manipulate the law in just the right way to get what he wants and to get his absolutely guilty clients off, or at least get their sentences drastically reduced. A guy like this has obviously been running his cons and gambles for quite some time to be able to get away with what his does — and in plain sight, as his face is all over billboards, benches, and TV commercials. Yet, in AMC’s Breaking Bad prequel/spin-off Better Call Saul, we learn that Saul only six years prior had been Jimmy McGill, a struggling public defender who couldn’t even pay $3 to park his car at the county courthouse. How did down-on-his-luck screw-up Jimmy McGill become the savvy lawyer Saul Goodman after only a few years? It’s three episodes into Better Call Saul and the breadcrumbs to the underworld have been laid out for Jimmy’s transition into Saul.
