| TV Review: Backstrom 1.6 “Ancient, Chinese, Secret” |

Backstrom
Season 1 Episode 6: “Ancient, Chinese, Secret”
Directed by Rob Hardy
Written by Leif G.W. Persson (author)
Created by Hart Hanson
Starring Rainn Wilson, Beatrice Rosen, Page Kennedy, Genevieve Angelson, Dennis Haysbert, Thomas Dekker, and Kristoffer Polaha.
FOX
Air Date: Thursday, February 26, 2015, 9:00pm Last week on Backstrom 1.5 “Bogeyman,” our hero set out to solve a kidnapping eerily similar to an old case of his. It got personal and Everett Backstrom (Rainn Wilson) showed us his softer side. It is difficult to maintain a hard facade when young girls are being kidnapped by pervs, even for Backstrom. So that episode brought the needle a bit higher than the week before. Backstrom 1.6 “Ancient, Chinese, Secret” review: A Chinatown psychic is brutally stabbed to death in an elaborate fight to the death scene, at least according to the preliminary blood spatter analysis provided by Niedermayer (Kristoffer Polaha).

| ‘Creed’ Official Synopsis Hits Rocky Fans
Warner Brothers and MGM released the official synopsis for Creed, the Rocky spinoff set to hit theaters this November. This time, the fighter who needs focus is Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan, The Fantastic Four), the son of the late “master of disaster” Apollo Creed. So who do you turn to when you want to become the greatest fighter in the world? The Italian Stallion, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), of course. Check out the full official synopsis for Creed here below. No word on what the “deadly” is in the synopsis that Balboa will be facing. We can assume it is an illness or injury. But what I think we can definitely look forward to is an inspirational underdog story, including a workout montage with music that will make you want to go back to the gym. And isn’t that all we really want from Rocky?

When looking at the entire film catalog of the Alien franchise, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection are the weakest of the four. So Neill Blomkamp hopes that his new Alien film will be something that can disregard those final two films, and be a proper installment by acting as a “genetic sibling” to the first two movies. Blomkamp amazed us all with the concept art that he released via Instagram, and the District 9 director then revealed that he could make the movie if he wanted to before it was eventually confirmed that he would indeed helm a brand new Alien film next. But it wasn’t clear whether Sigourney Weaver‘s Ripley character would be involved or not. While making the press rounds for Chappie, Blomkamp and film star Weaver talked about the new Alien and confirmed that the movie would feature Ripley after all, acting as closure to her story. Hit the jump for more and to see a video of the two talking about the movie.
