SNL Star Trek Worf M.D.

During last night’s Saturday Night Live, hosted by Fifty Shades Of Grey star Dakota Johnson, the show paid tribute to the late Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, who passed away on Friday.

In a sketch titled “Emergency Room,” Kenan Thompson pays a doctor who gets called into work straight from a Trek convention dressed as Worf, the Klingon security chief from Star Trek: The Next Generation. At the end of the skit, Dr. Worf gives the Vulcan salute — the signal made famous by Nimoy’s Mr. Spock — before the screen showed an image of Nimoy in the original series giving the salute. (While Nimoy was known as part of the original Star Trek series, he did have a notable guest-star spot on TNG.)

Watch the sketch here below, along with other highlight videos from the episode.

During her monologue, Johnson talked about how her life has changed since starring in the steamy box office smash Fifty Shades and how people like her dry cleaner won’t look her in the eye anymore. After mentioning her famous parents, Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, it’s revealed that they’re actually in the audience and they too can’t look at her. (Dakota Johnson was naked throughout much of Fifty Shades.)

The actress also appeared in sketches “Press Junket,” which finds her playing herself being interviewed at a Fifty Shades press junket by a middle-schooler (!!!); “Cinderella,” where she’s Cinderella at the Ball; and “I Can’t,” where she literary “can’t,” and as well as in the aforementioned “Emergency Room” and the pre-recorded “Say What You Wanna Say,” set to Sara Bareilles song “Brave.”

Also notable was the cold open featuring Taran Killam as former NYC Mayor Rudolph Giuliani having a Birdman moment, where Johnson plays Emma Stone’s character from the film Birdman.
