Sesame Street has done it again. The geniuses who produce the best in children’s programming since the 60s have found a niche with adults; spoofing their favorite pop culture shows. “True Mud,” “Mad Men” (about emotions), and recently “House of Bricks,” a House of Cards parody starring the Three Little Pigs and The Big Bad Wolf. Now, in anticipation of Avengers: Age of Ultron, opening the Friday; Sesame Street brings you “The Aveggies: Age of Bon Bon.”
Watch the video here below.
When an evil chocolate chip cookie shaped flying saucer flies around spoiling people’s vegetables, who can save us but the Aveggies! A team of healthy superheroes like Onion Man, Captain Ameri-Cauliflower, Black Bean Widow, Corn (Thor), Zucchin-Eye, and Cookie Monster as Dr. Brownie who is ready to “turn green, get big and eat giant flying cookie!”
The 5-minute parody hits all the Avengers jokes. Cookie Monster needs to stay focused by talking to himself. This leads to him imagining s’mores and eating Corn’s corn cob hammer. When Zucchin-Eye (Hawkeye) reprimands him, Cookie Monster reminds him that Cucumber is cool; not Zucchini, a subtle jab at Jeremy Renner’s character who is easily the lamest of the Avengers.
At the end, Cookie Monster reveals his secret (just like Mark Ruffalo in Avengers), he’s always hungry, and after saving the day, he invites the team for Veggie Schwarma!
Avengers: The Age of Ultron opens this Friday May 1st in theatres everywhere. Sesame Street is on daily at 7:00am ET on PBS.
