‘Suicide Squad’ First Look: Cast Assembles For Killer Group Photo
  |  @   |

David Ayer knows how to make use of social media. After posting teaser images leading up to the start of filming of his Suicide Squad film, we are now getting our first look at the titular characters of his upcoming adaptation, thanks to his most recent post on Twitter.

The image features Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, among many others. Check out the Suicide Squad cast photo in the image gallery here below.

Here’s the full line-up: Adam Beach as Slipknot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara (kneeling) as Katana, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.

As you can see, Jared Leto‘s Joker — who we saw recently for Joker’s 75th anniversary — is missing from the cast photo, as is Viola Davis‘ Amanda Waller. These are two key characters to the DC universe with Joker being an iconic Batman villain, while Waller is the leader who sends the team on various black-ops highly dangerous missions. Basically she is the Nick Fury of the DC universe. Leto was also absent from the cast table read photo Ayer released last month.

Also missing is Common, who recently signed on for a mysterious role. Unsurprisingly missing from this cast photo are Jesse Eisenberg who is rumored to reprise his Lex Luthor role for the film, and Ben Affleck, who was recently spotted on the set of the film in Toronto and reportedly has a cameo.

For those worried about the look of Smith’s Deadshot, he will most definitely be wearing a mask with the iconic eye-piece that helps him hit his target. Check out his photo here in the image gallery.

So what do you think of the cast now that they have assembled?

Here’s the current film synopsis:

A secret government agency recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency.

Suicide Squad opens on August 5, 2016.
