Suicide Squad

Social media has been a great way to reach out to fans and followers. Vin Diesel and Ryan Reynolds make great use of the platform to help promote their films. Those following director David Ayer may have noticed that he has been posting set photos and props from his upcoming DC film Suicide Squad.

But last night, he posted one of the biggest teases, a cast photo with Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and new additions Adam Beach (Law and Order: SVU, Flags of Our Fathers), Jim Parrack (Fury, True Blood), and Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project, Eastbound and Down) at a read-through. Jared Leto is notably absent from the photo, but we’ve already seen his transformation in tweets. Find out who Beach, Parrack, and Barinholtz are playing and check out the new photo after the jump.

True Blood Headstone Banner

Did Tony Soprano get taken out when the screen went black? Were the Losties in Purgatory all along? Finales never satisfy everybody, and lines are usually drawn one minute after a series ends.

So how did the True Blood finale measure up?

Warning! Spoiler Alert!

Well it was certainly different from the usual episodes. Whereas one can usually count on gratuitous violence, nudity, and ridiculous lines like, “You just killed my fairy godmother!”, the series finale was much tamer and somber, emphasized by sad string music. The music set the pace and was appropriate for the gravity of Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) decision about Bill (Stephen Moyer). Bill is maudlin and feeling his humanity. He wants the true death even though the cure for Hep-V had been offered and subsequently rejected by him. He wants Sookie to end him with her fairy light ball, so that she can lead a normal life with babies. He believes that as long as he is alive, Sookie will always come back to him. That’s kinda arrogant, but he is probably right. While many may disagree, Bill was falling right in line with his character: brooding, guilt-stricken, and martyr-like. This is not including when Bill was evil and much more fun during the Authority storyline. Sad, guilty Bill made me want to kill him. I’ve always been more Team Eric though.

True Blood Season 7 Cast Banner

True Blood is meeting the true death tonight. While some of the cast members had managed to work on higher profile projects in between seasons (Joe Manganiello in Magic Mike; Alexander Skarsgard in Straw Dogs; Anna Paquin in X-Men: Days of Future Past), some of the cast did little else, choosing to hone their True Blood character (or enjoy their time off — I know I would). Still…we always had the comfort of knowing that come Summer, we could still catch Sookie and the gang jump from one bloody predicament to another.

But alas…everything must come to an end eventually, especially if it is as frivolously fun as True Blood. That doesn’t mean we won’t be able to see our faves act, direct, produce, and even write other films and television shows, right? So what can we look forward to? Here’s a look at what’s next for some of our favorite True Blood cast members.

Two friends who are just about as opposite as opposites can be, looking for that work more often than they care to. George is the smart, resourceful friend who takes care of Lennie, because well…Lennie ain’t quite right in the head. He has a hard time remembering stuff. He pets mice, pups, and ladies too hard. He can’t control his own strength sometimes. And George would have such a good life if he didn’t have to take care of Lennie, the “wine, women, and song” life…at least once a month. And George could settle in at a place, without Lennie getting in trouble and getting them run off.

What do you get when you mix Daniel Desario, Thomas-John, Blair Waldorf, Reverend Lowdown, Camel, Hoyt Fortenberry, and O’Neill? The cast of Of Mice and Men – PULLING IT OFF!!!
