The official trailer has been released by ABC for The Muppets—and no, it’s not the movie of the same name that was released in 2011, though it does feature Walter, the Muppet introduced in said movie who sang the Oscar winning song “Man or Muppet” with Jason Segel and also appeared in the sequel Muppets Most Wanted.
This trailer is for the Muppets’ return to television on ABC. It’s described as “sort of an adult Muppets show” by Kermit the Frog (who was recently spotted in Costa Rica, in case you missed it), and is presented in a documentary style similar to TV shows such as The Office.

SYNOPSIS:
It’s time to get things started! The Muppets are coming to ABC and this is your first look!
The Muppets return to primetime with a contemporary, documentary-style show. For the first time ever, a series will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, breakups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires. This is a more adult Muppet show, for “kids” of all ages.
Bill Prady (The Big Bang Theory) and Bob Kushell (Anger Management) are co-writers and executive producers. Randall Einhorn (Wilfred), Bill Barretta, Debbie McClellan and Kyle Laughlin are also executive producers. ABC’s new series The Muppets is produced by ABC Studios and The Muppets Studio.
The Muppets is set to premiere this fall, airing Tuesday nights at 8/7c right before Fresh Off the Boat.
You can learn much more about ABC’s new fall lineup of shows—which includes The Catch, Dr. Ken, The Family, Of Kings & Prophets, Oil, Quantico, The Real O’Neals, Uncle Buck, and Wicked City—and also watch clips and trailers over at the official website.
