A full official trailer has been released for Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser, the sequel to the 2001 comedy that starred David Spade as the heavily mulleted title character.
The first trailer, a teaser running only 46 seconds, showed far less than this official trailer, which runs over two and a half minutes. The new trailer shows more of the Wizard of Oz-like storyline, in which a now happily married (with children) Joe Dirt gets whisked off by a twister and transported back in time to 1965. Now you want to see a Wizard of Oz remake where Dorothy gets sent to 1965, admit it.
You can read more about Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser and watch the full trailer below. Slight NSFW warning is in effect for language, though instead of being in the R-rated red band trailer zone it’s more of a PG-13…blue band trailer? Yeah, let’s go with that.
SYNOPSIS:
In this sequel to the 2001 cult favorite, David Spade (“Rules of Engagement”) returns as the mullet-wearing, rock and roll loving, down on his luck white-trash-hero who embarks on another epic journey, this time through the recent past, the heartland of America – and his own mind – to get back to his loved ones. Joe Dirt is back with a vengeance, and a mop. David Spade reprises his role alongside Oscar winner Christopher Walken (WEDDING CRASHERS), Brittany Daniel (“The Game”), Dennis Miller and Adam Beach (FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS). Patrick Warburton (“Rules of Engagement”), Mark McGrath (SHARKNADO 2), Charlotte McKinney (“Dancing with the Stars”) and Kevin Farley also star in the sequel.
The sequel is directed by Fred Wolf, who was a writer on the original Joe Dirt along with Spade, who wrote the sequel himself. Wolf’s previous directorial credits include Strange Wilderness and The House Bunny. His writing credits include Black Sheep, Dirty Work, Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, Without A Paddle, Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, and 98 episodes of Saturday Night Live.
Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser will be released exclusively on Crackle on July 16th, where you’ll be able to stream it for free.
