Daniel Craig as James Bond in Spectre

Sony Pictures has released a brand new trailer for the 24th James Bond film, “Spectre,” which blasts into theaters this November. The film stars Daniel Craig in his 4th outing as Ian Fleming‘s super secret agent, James Bond. Joining him are returning stars, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear, as well as introducing Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci, and Andrew Scott.

Watch the latest trailer below.

In true spy fashion, there is only a little bit of information as to what director Sam Mendes (Skyfall) has in store for us, this go around with Bond.

The official synopsis:

A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE.

Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond’s actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him seek out Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the clue to untangling the web of SPECTRE. As the daughter of an assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot.

As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks, played by Christoph Waltz.

If you remember back to previous Bond films from the 60’s featuring Sean Connery, SPECTRE or Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, and Extortion was an apolitical criminal organization led by Bond arch-villain Ernst Blofeld. According to Mendes, Waltz will be playing the role of Franz Oberhauser, and appears to be in charge of the operation for this incarnation. Oberhauser claims to have a personal connection to Bond. For what it’s worth, there were “hints” of a master criminal organization in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, and Jesper Christensen is obviously set to make a re-appearance in Spectre.

Some argued that the success of Skyfall was due in part to the abandonment of the story line featuring Spectre, after the mildly disappointing Quantum of Solace. In the hands of Mendes, and with Daniel Craig now regarded as one of the better Bond actors, we can look forward to finally getting to the heart of that story in Spectre.

The film is due in theaters, October 26th in the UK, and November 6th, 2015 worldwide.
