AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead, a prequel spin-off to their wildly popular series The Walking Dead, airs this Sunday, but the network has released the opening sequence online in advance of the premiere.

When The Walking Dead premiered on Halloween night in 2010, we saw Deputy Rick Grimes lying in a hospital bed waking up from a coma. The opening for Fear calls back to that moment, with an overhead shot of Frank Dillane‘s Nick awakening, but under much different circumstances. The young man, who’s a drug addict who’s failed out of college, makes a startling discovery in the drug den he passed out in.

By the way, if Nick looks a little familiar to you, that’s because the actor previously played teenaged Tom Riddle, aka Voldemort, in 2009s’ Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In Fear, he’s definitely sporting a new, heartthrob-type of look.

The events of Fear The Walking Dead take place in Los Angeles, CA, in the early days of the zombie apocalypse, during the time that Rick was in the coma in a hospital in the fictional King County, Georgia.

Fear, which stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Lorenzo James Henrie, Mercedes Mason, and Ruben Blades, begins this Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 9pm on AMC.
