One of the highlights of NYCC for me was sitting in the Screen Junkies panel Friday afternoon, and getting a sneak peak at the latest Honest Trailer from Hal Rudnick and the Movie Fights crew. The movie, one of the biggest blockbusters of all time, and a movie that has divided fans since it debuted over the summer; Jurassic World. Or as narrator Jon Bailey calls it, “the best Jurassic Park sequel ever made, which really isn’t saying much.” This is one of the best HT’s they’ve done so far.
Check out the Honest Trailer below!
Watch as the filmmakers sell a new generation the exact same story they sold their parents, complete with shoddy defensive structures, technology that goes awry at the worst possible times, and people outrunning dinosaurs… in heels! But at least they’ve “spared no expense.” Meet Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, whose names are really unimportant, as they set out to stop one of the dumbest plans in movie history… so dumb, Bailey has to read it twice. Dear God, Vincent D’Onofrio’s character is such a badly written villain.
This HT had audiences at Comic Con rolling as Bailey called it the highest price SyFy original movie ever made, that’s major selling point was Chris Pratt teaching zookeepers a new cool hand motion. So ignore all the annoying questions you may have… except the one about the rolling spheres going anywhere the kids want when shopping carts in a store parking lots have automatic breaks! C’mon! That annoyed me in the movie theaters”¦ sometimes I think the ScreenJunkies hear my complaints. But who cares”¦ before the final Dino-Fight was the bee’s’ knees!
Starring… Zoo Lord, Shamu (the Mosasaur), and Tyrannosaurus Ex Machina… new title (and greatest SyFy-esque title of all time) “RAPTOR REX VS. DINOSHARK.” Stay for the dig at Jimmy Fallon at the end. Again, these guy are in my head!
Screen Junkies have over 4.8 million subscribers on YouTube and release a new Honest Trailer every Tuesday.
