Last week on Heroes Reborn, Noah (Jack Coleman) returns to 2015, and starts to see what chaanges have been wrought. Quentin (Henry Zebrowski) was a big negatove butterfly, as he turned traitor (not really). New Quentin is working with Erica (Rya Kihlstedt). Oh, and didn’t die. The Haitian is now alive and well, since Noah asked the soon-to-be-dead Caspar the penny man, to erase his memories. The Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis)teams up with Taylor (Eve Harlow) and other EVOs on a mission to rescue Micah Sanders from Erica’s clutches. Tommy (Robbie Kay) stops time for the first time, just when a bullet is about to hit his girl. He is then captured by Erica and Phoebe who dampens his power.
Spoilers below.
Heroes Reborn 1.10 “11:53 To Odessa” recap/review: 7957 years in the future, Miko (Kiki Sukezane) is walking around a desert, until she finds the gateway oasis. Some high kicks to the guards and she’s in! Katana girl finds her real self in a coma and her father, Otomo, who gives her her next mission, and assures her that Ren will be there soon. In the present, Ren follows a shogun into a dojo and runs into… Otomo? Ah… Otomo constructs who tells him that Miko didn’t die (sort of) and he has his own mission too. Ren takes the destiny bus to Odessa.
Noah and Malina are reunited. They intend on going to Midian to rescue Tommy. Luke begs to help. Noah rejects him. But Luke keeps following them. And that’s a good thing.
Erica tries to make nice with Tommy. She explains that Hiro severed the bridge to the future, so now everyone will die. Put your money where you mouth is, sister. Tommy wants to go with her there. She does show him, and almost convinces him when… a certain young lady calls him, “The Master of Time and Space.”
Taylor, The Haitian, and more go to rescue Micah.
Farah didn’t die! But Parkman is mind-messing with her. And he’s going to bring Carlos in. He resorts to putting a gun to Carlos’s head. She loves him, so she caves.
There’s a nice little grandparent bonding moment when Noah describes Claire to Malina.
Quentin questions the plan. Phoebe sees no other way. I am happy to see that even though the butterfly changed Quentin’s role, it did not change his entire personality.
Carlos is brave! He saves Farah. It’s really sweet.
Parkman goes to Micah to find out if him and his family are on the list to go to the future. Finally, a full, clear scene of Micah! They are on the list, but still… Harris’s mind made Parkman seem like extraneous fat. I really don’t like Parkman being on the bad side.
A huge storm is coming. It looks like an F-5 tornado, but could have been something else or more. Malina uses her power to stop it, but the people are not grateful. They want to hurt her because she’s EVO. Something takes Noah (looks like a time traveler), but Luke is still there and protects her.
Taylor, Farah, Carlos, The Haitian, and the others meet up to find Micah, and see dozens of Harris’s coming at them.
Run!
This is a nice little cliffhanger for the fall finale. I feel like Erica is less evil, and relaly believes she is saving mankind. I don’t really get how katana girl and the real Miko can be together, but I guess that should not even matter given the stretches of imagination we need to watch this show.
Heroes Reborn returns January, 2016 on NBC.
