British black metal unit Wode have been causing quite a buzz in the underground. It all started with their 2011 demo and now, five years later, the band have finally delivered their self titled debut album.
Check out the video to “Death’s Edifice” below.
Wode is six songs of epic, progressive black metal that already has secured its place on many a critics year end lists. The band’s sound is reminiscent of Emperor, with tinges of everything from atmospheric to symphonic black metal and some straight up black and roll. This is a superior offering and I strongly urge you to head over to Wode’s Bandcamp page and check out the full record.
This week’s featured Black Metal Friday track is the album opener and what an opener it is! Check out “Death’s Edifice” and crank it up loud!
