To say that Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice was a bit underwhelming and overstuffed for a majority of us would be an understatement. So it is easy to see why all eyes are on Justice League. This would be the third film in the DCEU, all of them having been directed by Zack Snyder. And now with Justice League currently filming in London, the cast and crew are working hard to rectify some of those mistakes made in BvS, and hopefully regain some of that lost confidence.
To do so, Warner Bros. has just released the official synopsis, title card, and teaser image of the Batmobile. While all of it looks and sounds cool, it will be up for you to decide for yourself if it is enough to make you want to watch the film. Check them out below.
As you can probably guess, the film takes right where BvS left off, with Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) now searching for those Metahumans that Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) was researching. In the film, Luthor also discovered a threat that the synopsis speaks of, and was merely preparing for it to come. In fact, based on previous reports and rumors, this threat is Steppenwolf, a general to Darkseid’s army, with the overlord set to play a minor role that would eventually lead to a more prominent one in the future. However, the synopsis makes no mention of who the villain is. Remember, it is still every early on in the production process, so it is easy to see why WB has released a less-than-revealing plot description:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes””Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash””it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Some interesting notes about this, we see that it is Batman and Wonder Woman who are leading the charge on the search for these Metahumans: Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), But there is no mention of Superman (Henry Cavill). It should be interesting to see how Snyder resurrects the character given that his selfless act cost him his life. What will be even more interesting is how the audience will respond to such a resurrection.
As for the title cards and image we shouldn’t hold it against anyone for releasing teaser stuff, especially since the film just started shooting a few weeks ago. The title card doesn’t offer much other than just a star in between the “I” and the “C” of Justice League, which have two different variations of black and white. We also have a first look at the new Batmobile that Batman will be cruising around in during the film. So it should be fun to see what kind of upgrades the Caped Crusader decides to give it in order to deal with this new threat. Credit to Collider for the images and synopsis.
J.K. Simmons and Willem Dafoe also star.
Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
