Knoxville Tennessee’s Whitechapel has come out of the gates swinging with their sixth studio album Mark of the Blade, which was released on June 24, 2016 via Metal Blade Records. The first single is entitled “Elitest Ones” and it takes on the army of know-it-all keyboard warriors that populate online metal forums. The song is exactly the sort of vitriolic, deathcore rager that Whitechapel have become synonymous with.
Elsewhere on the record, Phil Bozeman and company give those elitists plenty of fodder for bitching with their first-ever attempt at clean vocals on the track “Bring Me Home.” Personally, I think the song is pretty good, but my opinion on that seems to be in the minority if one is to pay any credence to the elitist ones.
You should check out Mark of the Blade for yourself and see what you think. Meanwhile, here is a taste of new Whitechapel. This is “Elitist Ones.” Enjoy!
