Gears of War 4 Windflare

We’ve already known that the legend himself, Marcus Fenix (voiced by Futurama star John DiMaggio), would be part of the story in Gears of War 4. Marcus was the main character of the original Gears trilogy.

His son JD Fenix (Spartacus star Liam McIntyre) is the main character this time around, but in a new Gears 4 gameplay demo we see old Marcus is back in the fight. You can read more about the game and see the video below.

A new saga begins for one of the most acclaimed video game franchises in history. After narrowly escaping an attack on their village, JD Fenix and his friends, Kait and Del, must rescue the ones they love and discover the source of a monstrous new enemy.

  • Never Fight Alone: Enjoy two-player co-op campaign with friends locally via split-screen, over Xbox Live or LAN. Player 2 can select either Kait or Del.
  • Horde 3.0: Team up with four others and battle wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies by choosing your combat class, leveling up your skills and deploying fortifications anywhere on the map.
  • Explosive Versus Multiplayer: Compete online in new and favorite game types, all at 60fps on dedicated servers. A new visible ranking system means fairer matchmaking for social, competitive and professional players alike.
  • Redefined Cover Gameplay: New weapons, close-cover combat moves and combat-knife executions turn each piece of cover into an offensive opportunity.
  • We just saw a new gameplay demo during E3 2016 last month, which featured a nightmarish storm sequence. This new gameplay demo also features a nightmarish storm, which are known as “Windflares.” These began happening after the Lambent Pandemic, which Marcus Fenix helped put an end to 25 years earlier with the help of his own father Adam Fenix toward the end. So if you’re planning to play, you know, be prepared for some scary ass storms.

Gears of War 4 will be released October 11th on Xbox One (an Ultimate Edition is also available) and Windows 10 PC as part of Xbox Play Anywhere. A special edition Xbox One S 2TB console has also been announced, which you can pre-order right here and see a video for below.

In this short gameplay demo of Gears of War 4, our heroes JD, Del, Kait and Marcus Fenix are in pursuit of creatures called the Swarm. With their village destroyed and Kait’s mom abducted, the squad gives chase through the wilds of Sera and must battle through an incredible storm.

Here’s your first look at the Xbox One S Limited Edition Gears of War 4 Bundle, featuring a gritty, battle weathered console and controller, 2TB Hard Drive, 4K Ultra HD video, High Dynamic Range, custom system sounds, and a vertical stand. Includes a full game download of Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition for Xbox One and Windows 10, with early access, exclusive in-game items, a Season Pass, and much more.
