Kong Skull Island first image

The first trailer for WB and Legendary Pictures’ Kong: Skull Island was shown today in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con.

Watch the first trailer here below!

Stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Corey Hawkins, and Jason Mitchell, along with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts were on the panel.

We’re currently at the WB panel in Hall H, which is still in progress, so keep it at Geeks Of Doom as we bring you news all day from SDCC.

Here’s some highlights:

John Goodman walks out onto the stage mimicking a monkey and then bowed down to the audience. Straight Outta Compton semi reunion with Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell. But the real cheers were for Tom Hiddleston.

What’s supposed to be a routine surveillance job turns out to be something much more nefarious.

The film takes place during the 1970s because it was an era where myth could actually take place.

Brie Larson is anti-war photojournalist. Samuel L. Jackson is the commander of the sky. Hiddleston says he plays Captain James Conrad. He’s skillful in tracking and expositions. These characters feel overqualified for such a small job and then they realize that they’ve gotten themselves into something much bigger.

Mitchell thinks they did a really good job because of the guerilla filming. Hawkins agreed. They are making a huge big budget film with these actors, and it was fun. He added shooting in Vietnam and Hawaii gave the film a personality. Larson described the conditions that sometimes hampered the filmmaking. Vogts-Roberts said those conditions helped make the film more real and less tactile. Hiddleston said filming there, you find things that crawl in wall spaces.

Despite that, Vogts-Roberts said no one complained and Hawkins said everyone sang karaoke at the end of the day and said Goodman was the best of them all.

Goodman said Leo, the ape that played Kong, was constantly late but never drunk on set. He joked that Leo has earned the right NOT to do press.
