Disney's Moana

During the Rio Olympic Games a new TV spot for the upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios feature Moana was aired.

Unlike the usual 30-second TV spot, however, this one runs about a minute in length. So it’s somewhere between a TV spot and a teaser trailer. But most importantly it shows plenty of new footage we didn’t see in the first trailer, so those excited for the movie will definitely want to check it out.

Continue below to watch the Moana Olympics TV spot.

In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania 2000 years ago, 14-year-old Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.

Moana features the voices of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and newcomer Auli’i Cravalho, and the movie is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker.

It’s scheduled for release on November 23rd.

Light the torch, find your way, dive right in. Watch a brand new sneak peek of Disney’s Moana and see the film in 3D this Thanksgiving!

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”) and produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), “Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
