BioWare has released a new video for the latest game in the Mass Effect series, titled Mass Effect: Andromeda. What exactly the video is about is not exactly clear yet. But it did give me goosebumps, so there’s that.
The video is looking for fans to sign up for something called the “Andromeda Initiative,” which sounds like it’s basically a mailing list for updates and such. Orientation for this initiative begins on November 7th, which just so happens to be N7 Day, a Mass Effect holiday for many. We’ll likely get more info then, and maybe even a new peek at the game if lucky.
Continue below to watch the new video.
Just the shot in the image seen above makes the video worth watching for me. It reminds of the first time I landed on our moon in the original Mass Effect, and saw that beautiful blue world staring back at me.
One thing worth noting is the voice over in the video. The popular thought is that it’s the voice of Clancy Brown (Highlander, The Shawshank Redemption), and I cannot disagree. If true, it would be pretty bad ass.
Those interested in joining the Andromeda Initiative can sign up right here. And why wouldn’t you want to join? To quote another Clancy Brown movie, “you wanna live forever?!” You can also find previously released videos, trailers, and gameplay peeks for the game right here if you missed them.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is currently expected to be released sometime in early 2017, and can be pre-ordered for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
