Today, the studio released the first trailer for Alien: Covenant. Directed by Ridley Scott, the film is the follow-up to Prometheus, and centers on a crew bound for a remote planet across the far side of the galaxy where they discover that paradise is actually a dangerous place inhabited by David (Michael Fassbender), the sole surviving synthetic android of the doomed spaceship Prometheus. Creepy Christmas: A Merry Macabre Coloring Book
Paperback
By Sam Shearon
Publisher: Vesuvian Books
166 pages | 8.5 x 0.4 x 11 inches
Release date: October 18, 2016 It’s Christmas time, so I should be wrapping gifts and baking cookies, but instead, I’ve been coloring in my new Creepy Christmas coloring book! That’s right, author and artist Sam Shearon has injected some terror into this holiday season with his adult coloring book Mister Sam Shearon’s Creepy Christmas: A Merry Macabre Coloring Book. Well, actually, as the book tells us, the creepy aspect has always been a part of the season, with tales of legendary creatures like Krampus, Wendigo, and the Abominable Snowman. For the traditionally innocuous elements, such as toys, snow globes, and even Rudolph, Shearon converts them into terrifying yet somehow still festive depictions just begging to be colorized.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe
Written by Ian B. Goldberg & Richard Naing
Directed by Andre Ovredal
Cast: Emile Hirsch, Brian Cox, Ophelia Lovibond, Olwen Catherine Kelly, Michael McElhatton, Parker Sawyers, Jane Perry
IFC Films | 86 Minutes
Release Date: December 21st, 2016 “Doesn’t look like someone broke in; to me it looks like they were trying to break out.” The Autopsy of Jane Doe opens right at the end of very strong year for horror. There were critical and theatrical hits like The Conjuring 2, Don’t Breathe, and Ouija: Origins of Evil, as well as plenty of noteworthy films uploaded to various streaming sites. I saw the preview for The Autopsy of Jane Doe and it genuinely creeped me out. Directed by Scandinavian filmmaker Andre Ovredal (Trollhunter), The Autopsy of Jane Doe is a claustrophobic, atmospheric, and an overall scary movie that fits comfortably amongst this year’s horror best. More below.

As much as Star Wars: The Force Awakens could have had A-listers to lead the film, director J.J. Abrams chose a couple of unknowns. However, some of those bigger names managed to get in a few cameos (such as James Bond himself, Daniel Craig), while others never got their chance to be a part of a galaxy far far away. We recently learned that Eddie Redmayne tested for Kylo Ren, a role that eventually went to Adam Driver. However, the Oscar-winning actor wasn’t the only big name who was up for a role in the 2015 Star Wars sequel. While helping promote his new film Assassin’s Creed, Michael Fassbender said he was considered for a role in The Force Awakens.
