Trollhunters Stranger Things

Trollhunters, the Guillermo del Toro animated adventure based on his novel of the same name, has gotten the Stranger Things treatment. We have been seeing quite a few other memes of titles using the Stranger Things logo (which comes from Stephen King’s favorite font), and now Trollhunters gets one, complete with a mashup video that is not such a far reach.

Check out the video below.

Starring the late Anton Yelchin (Star Trek), as boy hero Jim, Charlie Saxton (Betas) as best friend Toby, Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy) as evil troll Bular, Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) and Fred Tatasciore (Family Guy) as good trolls Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!!, and Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) as bully Steve, Trollhunters plunges us into a secret netherworld of trolls, and it’s up to newly annointed trollhunter Jim, and his plucky and heroic friends (some are good trolls) to save the day.

Stranger Things plunged us into a secret netherworld of the Upside Down, and it’s up to some plucky and heroic kids (and strange) to save the day.

As the video blurb says: “A sleepy town. Kids on bikes. A secret world of creatures hidden just out of sight. Sound familiar? ” Why yes it does.

I’m currently binging Trollhunters with my children now (12 & 6-years old), and Stranger Things was just the craziest breakout phenomenon of the year. Both are available on Netflix right now.

Synopsis:

From the limitless imagination of acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes a tale of two worlds set to collide in the epic saga DreamWorks Trollhunters. When ordinary teenager Jim Lake Jr. stumbles upon a mystical amulet on his way to school one morning, he inadvertently discovers an extraordinary secret civilization of mighty trolls beneath his small town of Arcadia. Suddenly destined to play a crucial role in an ancient battle of good and evil, Jim is determined to save the world – right after gym class. A must-see viewing event for the entire family, DreamWorks Trollhunters will bring viewers of all ages around the globe into the rich and creative world of this all-new Netflix original series, premiering worldwide December 23, 2016.

Voice talent includes Kelsey Grammer (“The Simpsons,” X-Men: The Last Stand), Ron Perlman (Hellboy, “Adventure Time”), Steven Yeun (“The Walking Dead”) and Anton Yelchin (Star Trek Beyond). Trollhunters is created and executive produced by Guillermo del Toro (Crimson Peak, Hellboy).
