Stranger Things: The Dustin Experiment
Hardcover | Kindle Edition | Audiobook
By J.L. D’Amato
Publisher: Random House Books for Young Readers
Release Date: October 29, 2024 Geeky high school freshman Dustin Henderson finds an unlikely ally in metalhead Eddie Munson when they road trip outside of Hawkins to a science fair where they team up to uncover the competition’s saboteur in this latest installment in the Stranger Things book series, The Dustin Experiment. Dustin Henderson has always trusted and relied on his friends Mike, Will, and Lucas, but lately they’ve all seemed preoccupied. The once-inseparable pals went from spending time reading comic books, watching movies, playing Dungeons & Dragons, to later battling monsters that invaded their once-quiet town of Hawkins, Indiana, to now barely seeing each other. Will is in California; Mike is distracted by his long-distance girlfriend El, who is living with Will’s family; and Lucas, whose relationship with Max is strained, is more interested in making the basketball team than hanging out with the “The Party” (the name of their old D&D group). So Dustin invites Mike and Lucas to build something with him for them to enter into an Indianapolis science fair, figuring the experience will help them reconnect. Unfortunately, it’s not to be, so the young teen decides to go it alone. Well, not quite alone, since he still needs a ride to the big city. For this, Dustin manages to enlist local teenage metalhead Eddie Munson, who not only introduces him to heavy metal during their road trip, but also contributes to the science project and helps solve a mystery at the competition.

Fall is here! It’s my favorite season and time for reading. There’s always great titles being released for the spooky season that are perfect for Halloween, as well as with other books, accessories, and more! Putting together this list of Fall reading recommendations is always so much fun because I get to find new titles to anticipate and also I can look back on what was released earlier in the year and catch up on anything I might have missed. Below are some titles — with accompanying links to the print, ebooks, and audiobooks editions — that I personally am looking forward to this Fall, presented here in order of release date, starting with those releasing in September 2024. After this main list, I’ve included some titles that came out earlier this year that you might have missed that would be appropriate to read this Fall, along with those titles getting their paperback edition release this year. At the end, I included recommendations for themed Cookbooks, Crafts, Guides, Coloring Books, Sourcebooks, Card Sets, Journals, and Accessories that make for great fun as well. | Video: ‘Stranger Things’ Times Square NYC Pop-Up Store
The Upside Down has infiltrated New York City in Times Square with Stranger Things: The Experience! This immersive shopping experience will satisfy the Hawkins drought we have all been feeling since the end of Season 3 of the Netflix series, Stranger Things. Opening weekend saw many visitors, who came to the pop-up to play games at the Palace Arcade, visit the Byers’ living room, go to the Hawkins Snow Ball, and put themselves at risk in the Russian lab. The details for these mini-sets were amazing, with all kinds of 80’s technology and memorabilia strewn about. There is a ridiculous amount of Stranger Things and Netflix merchandise for sale to satisfy all geeks and empty all wallets. Check out our live video of the event and gallery of pics here below.
