NBC’s Constantine ended after one season, due to the ratings not making the cut. The show about snarky, demon hunter John Constantine developed a cult following. Back in 2015, there was a huge campaign to Save Constantine. Although that didn’t work, John Constantine (Matt Ryan) guested on Arrow in season 4, as an old friend of Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) who came and helped bring Sarah’s (Caity Lotz) soul back to her newly resurrected body, after taking a dip in the Lazarus Pit. It seemed as that was all we would get, with a tiny opening perhaps for future guest appearances.
Now Constantine is back!
Although not in the form that fans had originally hoped, Constantine will be back as an animated feature as five or six 10-minute episodes on the CW Seed. Matt Ryan will also be back to voice his character, with Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash) & David S. Goyer (Constantine) joining forces to produce it.
Constantine season 1 currently runs on CW Seed, and the new series will join other animated effort Vixen, whose guest voices have included Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin, Emily Bett Rickards, Carlos Valdes, and Katie Cassidy (Green Arrow, Flash, Felicity Smoak, Cisco Ramon, and Black Canary).
