Warning! Spoilers below for the last 2 episodes of This Is Us.

Last week on This Is Us, we were treated to the wedding of Jack and Rebecca Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore), and much of why we fell in love with this awesome couple. He surprised her on their anniversary with a night in their first apartment. She told him she wanted to go on tour. Kevin (Justin Hartley) finally made some hesitant headway in his effort to win Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge) back – baby steps. Randall (Sterling K. Brown) was losing ground at work and also his grip on family life. William’s (Ron Cephas Jones) impending doom was affecting him greatly. Toby (Chris Sullivan) tried to join the fat camp, but Kate (Chrissy Metz) sent him away.

Spoilers below.

This Is Us 1.15 “Jack Pearson’s Son” review: The Past – Kate is making lists for Jack for when she goes on tour. He is excited about her show and their traditional Valentine’s day bacon cheeseburgers and onion rings. I would be too. He invites Miguel (Jon Huertas) to come to her show. Miguel gets to talk to a girl, but Jack does not like Ben (Sam Trammell), especially when he finds out that Rebecca and Ben used to date. He doesn’t want her to go on tour, and they fight on Valentines day. He leaves to eat and drink alone. Not cool! I’ll spend Valentines Day with you, Jack Pearson!

Kate knocks at cabin 13… to tell Duke off. Whew! And whoops! His parents own the camp. “You’re done here.” She shows up at Toby’s hotel room and apologizes. He was worried, and wondered to himself why.

Toby (to himself): “You’re so confident and carefree and well-hung.” Hahahaha!

They “dive deep” and reveal themselves. But Kate can’t talk about Jack’s death yet. They decide to stay engaged, but hold off and take their time for the wedding until stuff can be talked about. Smart.

Kevin is interviewed by Katie Couric, who is utterly brutal to him. It’s a dream! Nightmare… and apparently a recurring one as per Sophie. She can’t go to opening night, but Kevin says it’s probably for the best. As she puts it, they are “cautiously dating.” He is freaking out about the play. The New York Times will be there, but he has no confidence. He calls Kate – no answer. He goes to see Randall – who has to jet because of William and is acting strange anyway. He goes to talk to his mom, but she’s not home. Weirdly, it’s Miguel who helps him, “You are Jack Pearson’s son.” He goes on to show how much he misses his best friend. This is a fantastic scene. Is it because Kevin has the most growing to do, that Hartley is getting and nailing these pivotal scenes?

Randall is jogging and thinking. Everything is coming down on him, and his hands won’t stop shaking. Beth’s mother broke her hip so she has to go to DC, leaving him alone with everything. William is doing worse. Randall is losing his place at work, and William fired the hospice nurse. He gets to the meeting unprepared, and stumbles so Sanjay (Hari Dhillon) takes over. He calls Kevin and sounds very weird. Kevin abandons his play to find and hold Randall who is rocking and crying. I definitely melted, but also really worried for the play and Kevin’s career. And how will Randall get back on track at work? I did feel that Sanjay was being kind in taking over, and not this shark circling the water, that I thought before.

I was on the edge of my seat to hear Kate give any hint about Jack’s death.

I was on the edge of my seat to see if Jack drank and drove on Valentines Day, and that’s how he died.

I was on the edge of my seat to see if Randall went further off the deep end before Kevin got there.

You got me, This Is Us.

This Is Us airs Tuesday nights at 9:00pm ET on NBC.
