Last time on Colony, Will (Josh Holloway) took the alien-crypted file to work to try to get Betsy (Keiko Agena) to open when he couldn’t. Bob (Toby Huss) stepped in and later “transferred” her. Katie (Sarah Wayne Callies) got pulled back into the cell, when one of them got sick and died from radiation poisoning. Broussard (Tory Kittles) was not around. Will and a reluctant Green Zone doctor helped. Maddie and Nolan (Amanda Righetti, Adrian Pasdar) visits the prison camp. Maddie visits Bram (Alex Neustaedter) and is upset (they both are), but can’t do anything. Nolan makes Snyder (Peter Jacobson) show him the shipment. Snyder rats him out.

Spoilers below.

Colony 2.7 “Free Radicals” review: It opens on a young couple in the middle of love. He has to stop for a puff from his oxygen tank. They cheer, “To liberty.” He goes on a bus all nervous and turns around, but she remote detonates him. Will gets handed her file at work – she worked with the last suicide bomber too. Will tells Katie to go ahead and give the drive to her “friends – he can’t risk it at work. She gives it to Broussard (who wants her back – he needs a partner).

Bram and Mya (Jessica Parker Kennedy) have sex then she’s all business again. Wow! The women on these shows are ruthless!

Will and Bob go check out the girls family. He questioned them and they denied. Bob threatened their grandchildren. He doesn’t know whether or not it’s because he’s “soft or subversive.” They do a raid on the house. They caught the girl and some accomplices and Bob kept shooting them in the head when they wouldn’t give up the leader. They torture the girl, but when Will tries to be “good cop,” she sneaks and takes a pill and dies.

Nolan confronts Maddie about the downloaded file. She denies, and they go film a cult commercial together. She then confronts Katie in her bugged kitchen (no!!!), who also denied. But Maddie spilled everything. She recommended that Katie go apologize to Lindsey (Erin Way) and she did. That kitchen convo will definitely come back to bite them.

Broussard visits a friend who lets him listen to the 1969 Apollo 10 audio, noting the similarities between that and the new file. The old one counted down to the arrival. The new one?

Maya and Bram make a toast, “To liberty,” Oh no! Is she training Bram to be a suicide bomber? No.

“Haven’t you ever wanted to be a part of something bigger than yourself?”

Soon it is apparent that Maya went on the ship and detonated the bomb to destroy it. Bram is distraught.

Katie fills Will in on the file. She asks Will if they can fight, and he agrees. They are counting down to extinction – “2 years, 3 months, and 9 days.”

Such a discovery and such resistance! I felt the fire when the ship exploded. This was one of the most exciting episodes to date, and even more of a turning point than when Charlie came home. With Will on the side of the resistance and Broussard, and their family fighting together, the aliens will definitely lose.

Colony airs Thursday nights at 10:00pm ET on USA.
