Production for Jurassic World 2 began a little over a month ago. The film, directed by J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls), is set a few years after the events of the first film. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are both set to reprise their respective roles, but other than that, we don’t know much about the sequel.
However, rumor has it, the film will be scarier than the first, and judging by the first official photo that has been released, you wouldn’t want to be anywhere near the Dino exhibit of a museum. Check it out below.
There is something dark and ominous about the photo posted by Bayona on his official Twitter account. Not only that, the fact that there’s usually a silence in the air in most museums adds to the slight dread. That being said, we can’t get a lot out from this photo. The lights and shadows certainly play to the director’s talents. Again, without having any added context, we don’t really know what’s going on here or if this actually have any significance to the film itself.
However, we do know that the film also stars BD Wong, Toby Jones, Ted Levine, James Cromwell, Rafe Spall, and Justice Smith.
While we know that Colin Trevorrow won’t be returning to direct the sequel, he will be co-writing the script with his frequent collaborator Derek Connolly.
Jurassic World 2 is scheduled to be released on June 22, 2018.
