The premiere date for Game of Thrones season seven has been revealed. And in a very cool way.
The official Facebook page went live with a video of a rather large block of ice. When someone commented the word “fire” on this live video, the block of ice was blasted with flames, slowly melting away the ice. Unfortunately it was happening a little too slowly, leading to the feed being cut a couple of times (or perhaps there was a technical issue), but eventually the release date was finally unveiled to all.
Continue below to see the videos.
In addition to revealing the premiere date via ice and fire, cast members from the show would occasionally pop up to do or say something to help make the wait a little more entertaining.
So go ahead and grab your favorite marker. Then find a calendar somewhere—in your house, at your neighbor’s house, at a store—wherever. And circle this date: July 16, 2017. I don’t even care if the only calendar you can find is on your mobile device. Grab your marker and circle that shit.
Time to get your game faces on, Thrones fans. We’ve only got a couple more of these left, and we can now see one of them approaching on the horizon.
