Last time on Colony, someone flew into the bloc. When Katie and Broussard (Sarah Wayne Callies, Tory Kittles) tried to find out more info from Hennessey, they found his dead body. Bob went to Bennett (Toby Huss, Christian Clemenson) and blew up Will’s spot. Katie and Broussard had to go rescue her kids by killing everyone. Will (Josh Holloway) got captured and had to go along with the effort to trap the pilot. He turned the tables and was able to escape, saved by said pilot. She agreed to meet with Broussard because the “real war is about to begin.”

Spoilers below.

Colony 2.10 “In The Garden Of Beasts” review: In the San Fernando bloc, a resistance cell is attacked, and one of them is put into an alien cocoon. That’s where they get them!

Maddie and Nolan (Amanda Righetti, Adrian Pasdar) give out rations. Katie secretly comes to her and says they she and her son can come underground with them. Maddie is pissed at her that she is in trouble in the first place, and believes Nolan won’t let anything happen to her. When they get home, the authority is waiting to question her. I really hoped at this point the authority would send them both to the factory because they are a pair of snakes that belong together somewhere in suffering.

The Red Hand took the gauntlet and the pilot wants it. She goes to retrieve it, while Broussard and the Bowmans try to think of a way out of the bloc. Go Team Resistance!

Snyder (Peter Jacobson) is sniffing around at Helena’s (Ally Walker) behest. He tells Bennett that he is his new boss. Go Snyder! He is so good at this.

Broussard and company visit one of the shift supervisors for the wall. He says “Blackjacks” get through from a transponder in their car. They are higher up than Governer-Generals.

“You’re dating the sister of a terrorist.” Nolan tries to convince Proxy Alcala (Tony Plana) that Maddie is different. He does want to help her, and says follow his lead. “There’s only one way out now. She sets Katie up. Is it just me, or does Alcala look like he is wearing a human mask?

They go to kidnap some blackjacks. Bram is upset he can’t go. Dude. Your parents are trying to keep all their kids for more than 3 seconds. That’s all. He goes and visits Maya’s mother and tells her about her, but the mom is strung out. Bram explores Maya’s things, and smiles at her sketchbook. It also leads him to that cell, the one that had the boy that Will let go, led by Karen who compliments Bram.

Katie calls Maddie and the bait is hooked. Katie was almost happy because she thought maybe she wasn’t going to betray her, but soon realized that’s exactly what she was doing. The Blackjacks came. After a shootout, Broussard grabs the SUV. Will saves his life by shouting for him to get out of the car right before a drone blows it up. Maybe Broussard will trust him now.

This was a really exciting episode. I mean, they all are… but Maddie’s utter betrayal of family, and the failed Blackjack mission lent this an almost finale feeling (except no major character died). I do expect a major death in the finale. I call Broussard and/or Maddie.

Colony airs Thursday nights at 10:00pm ET on USA.
