It’s nice to see the Highlander franchise back kicking ass and taking heads. In Highlander: The American Dream #3 the reader finds that this tale has progressed into a more modern era, specifically 1955! Old allies and enemies alike run through the streets of Manhattan with centuries old agendas.
The vicious killer John Hooke is still at large, having changed not at all over the many lifetimes he has remained alive. But as society has become more aware so have the peacekeepers, and one has taken notice of Hooke’s modus operandi. A crime scene discovery leads police to Connor MacLeod’s business, raising questions that seem to have no satisfactory answer. But that is what transpires in the light.
In the darkness, swords are unsheathed and the hunt begins. Is it justice or vengeance that MacLeod seeks? Does it matter? This is how the Game is played. And in the end, there can be only one! Only one issue more to go and you’ll want to read them all since this one ends right in the middle of a sword fight that sees our Highlander wounded and angry!
Highlander: The American Dream comes from IDW Publishing, and you can purchase a copy now right here if interested.
Here’s an official description:
The cult-classic film’s triumphant return continues! The American Dream follows Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod as he clashes with powerful immortals from the American Civil War to 1950s Manhattan on an unstoppable march toward The Gathering, where the last of the immortals will duel to the death. And to the victor goes the Prize… and control over humanity’s destiny.
