A Way Out Game

One of the smaller games unveiled during the EA Play event today was a co-op game titled A Way Out.

The game will instantly be exciting to some, as it comes from the same folks who made the incredible indie title Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons—a game which any and everyone who have never played it should seek out immediately. But this game is far different from Brothers. Instead of playing as siblings in a fantastical world, you play as two men who join up to break out of prison.

Read more about A Way Out and watch a reveal trailer and a gameplay trailer below.

EMBARK ON A UNIQUE CO-OP ADVENTURE

Meet Leo and Vincent, two men who don’t know each other but who will have to learn to work together no matter the situation. They need to find a way to break out of prison and continue on together beyond the prison walls.

EXPERIENCE A WIDE VARIETY OF GAMEPLAY

Together they embark on a journey, where they will live many memorable action moments together: car chases, stealth passages, melee fights, shootouts and many more.

GET TO KNOW LEO AND VINCENT

As they set out to reach a common goal, you will get to know more about their lives, who they are and the people they care for.

The big catch with A Way Out is that it’s not just a co-op game, but ONLY a co-op game. Meaning you need another human to play with, whether it be online or in person. And even if you do play online, it’s still split-screen. This is to give the game the unique style seen below in which one player can be doing something while a cut scene is playing on the other character’s side.

Being co-op only is a bit of a bummer for those, myself included, who don’t often play games directly with others. Perhaps it will have the option to randomly match you up with another player, but that may not be the most appealing thing to some. Still, even though I may not be able to play right away, it is a game I am excited to see more of.

Officially unveiled at EA Play 2017, A Way Out is a couch or online co-op only game where you play the role of one of two prisoners in a daring escape over and beyond the prison walls.

What begins as a thrilling escape quickly turns into an emotional adventure unlike anything seen & played before. A Way Out is a two-player experience. Each player controls one of the main characters, working together to escape the prison and continue beyond into each character’s lives.
