Footloose and fancy free. That is the first phrase that comes to mind when reading Time & Vine #1. If someone I knew had direct access to time travel and it involved imbibing wine, I would be all in. No hesitation, nothing. Just give me a drink and let’s go enjoy the ride.
Things are not so cut and dry for high school history teacher Megan, however. She is confused and apprehensive, with good reason; everyone knows magic is not real and no one can time travel, right? Right? But as everything starts to fall into place and she becomes more accustomed to the concept, she finds it exhilarating. Who wouldn’t?
It is a simple story with easy to understand art, but it has the potential to entertain virtually anyone with its time travel and anxiety-free plot. I am sure someone will complain about the consumption of alcoholic beverages, but do not let that throw you off of this fun, lighthearted comic. Quantum physics being what they are, I am sure a bottle of wine would help in some way, though maybe not as much as it does in this series. Succinctly put, this comic is a blast and I smiled all the way through it!
A grade school history teacher, looking for a respite from her life’s problems, finds the ultimate escape when the owner of a local winery reveals its secret to her: drink the right glass of wine in the right tasting room, and travel back in time to the year it was bottled. Together, they’ll journey through the history of the 200-year old winery… as well as their own.
