Fifty Shades Freed header

The end is near for the Fifty Shades film franchise, and after taking two films to figure things out, Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) are ready to take their relationship to the next level.

By walking down the aisle. All the dark and kinky S&M bondage stuff may not be behind them just yet, but at least they are now committed. However, it appears that Grey still has a few skeletons in his closet. And there is also someone who is stalking Anastasia. Find out more about this in the first teaser for Fifty Shades Freed here below.

Despite the near-unanimous pan the films have gotten from critics, one of Fifty Shades most redeeming qualities is its ability to embrace the fact that the source material is rotten soap opera garbage dialogue.

Of course, some of the credit also has to go to the loyal fans of the E.L. James novels who not only went to the theaters to see it, but gave the franchise the box office boost it needed for Universal to see this trilogy all the way through until the end.

Luckily, the final chapter in this trilogy isn’t split into two parts.

The trailer itself features shots of the wedding, the honeymoon, and kinky stuff. Not really sure how the mysterious gun in the drawer factors into this. I never read the books, so I’m not sure how I am supposed to react. But seeing how I didn’t really care for anything in the previous films but the cinematography, music, and ripping on the cheesy dialogue, I can probably guess that Freed will have a lot more of what we saw in the first two.

The film also stars Victor Rasuk, Tyler Hoechlin, Arielle Kebbel, and Eric Johnson.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Freed, the third chapter based on the worldwide bestselling “Fifty Shades” phenomenon. Expanding upon events set in motion in 2015 and 2017’s blockbuster films that grossed almost $950 million globally, the new installment arrives for Valentine’s Day 2018.

Fifty Shades Freed is directed by Fifty Shades Darker’s James Foley (Fear, House of Cards) and once again produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Marcus Viscidi, alongside E L James, the creator of the culture-spanning blockbuster series. The screenplay is by Niall Leonard, based on the novel by James.

Directed by James Foley, using a screenplay written by Niall Leonard, Universal will release Fifty Shades Freed on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2018.
