It’s hard to deny the absolute charm of Pitch Perfect, and because the first film was so successful, we got a trilogy. Though the second one was a somewhat flawed installment, it still had that hilarious chemistry between the cast. But the upcoming third promises to be the end of the Bellas, at least the ones that started this cinematic a cappella journey.
A new trailer for Pitch Perfect 3 just hit the web, and it reminds us of why this musical ensemble is not only hilarious, but also musically infectious. Check out the latest trailer for Pitch Perfect 3 here below.
A lot has changed since graduation for the Bellas. Most are in dead-end jobs, and a lot of the time they just reminisce about the good ol’ days of collegiate a cappella. However, they now have a chance to sign off on a high-note when they join the USO tour. Unfortunately, they are met with other musical groups who just ooze talent. So much so, the Bellas’ confidence shrinks.
While the group eventually rallies together, Becca (Anna Kendrick) is offered a music deal that could split the group apart.
It’s not necessarily the most original plot, but it’s one that makes the most sense if this means it is the end for Becca’s story. That being said, I think focusing Pitch Perfect 3 on the girls again is great because Pitch Perfect 2 seemed a little bit distracted with repetition. Hopefully, the third is an improvement. Judging by the trailer, it looks like they are ramping up on the comedy. At least we can always rely on John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks giving some comedically incendiary commentary on the Bellas.
In addition to Kendrick, the film stars Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp, Chrissie Fit, Kelley Jakle, Shelley Regner, Ruby Rose, and John Lithgow.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
