The Movie God   |  @   |

Netflix's Bright

Netflix is pushing their upcoming original movie Bright hard. And with good reason. It’s a big budget project, directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad, End of Watch) and featuring an impressive cast which includes Will Smith (Bad Boys, Men in Black), Joel Edgerton (Black Mass, Warrior), Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Prometheus), Edgar Ramírez (Deliver Us from Evil, Wrath of the Titans), Ike Barinholtz (Suicide Squad, Neighbors), Lucy Fry (11.22.63, Mr. Church), Margaret Cho (Drop Dead Diva, One Missed Call), and Jay Hernandez (Hostel, Suicide Squad).

It’s a movie you’d expect to see opening in theaters everywhere…if any big Hollywood studios would ever actually greenlight such a strange concept. The movie is set in an alternative history Los Angeles, in which humans live alongside mythical creatures like orcs, elves, and fairies.

Netflix has released a second official trailer for the movie, which you can find below along with a synopsis.

SYNOPSIS:

Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been co-existing since the beginning of time. Bright is genre-bending action movie that follows two cops from very different backgrounds. Ward (Will Smith) and Jakoby (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine patrol night and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it.

Bright is available only on Netflix this December. Bright is directed by David Ayer (Training Day, End of Watch, Suicide Squad) stars Will Smith (Men in Black), Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby), Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Lucy Fry (11.22.63), Edgar Ramirez (Hands of Stone, Zero Dark Thirty), Margaret Cho (Drop Dead Diva), and Ike Barinholtz (Suicide Squad). The movie is written by Max Landis (Chronicle) and produced by Ayer, Eric Newman (Narcos) and Bryan Unkeless (The Hunger Games).

Be sure to head right here to find the previous two trailers and a featurette if you missed them.

You can check out Bright on Netflix this holiday season when it’s released on December 22nd.
