Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

The latest look at J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has just dropped during Super Bowl LII. As far as Super Bowl spots go, it is pretty by the numbers, fitting in just enough content to get fans excited in the limited amount of time that is given. Remember, studios can pay up to $5 million just for a 30-second piece. So, of course, they will put out their best.

Watch the video here below.

In the sequel, Owen (Chris Pratt) returns to Isla Nublar, when an active volcano threatens to destroy all life on the island. The dinosaur whisperer is compelled to go on the dangerous mission when Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) tells him that one of his beloved velociraptors is still alive. Check out the latest spot below.

Of course, returning to the island was inevitable. But Fallen Kingdom seems to reintroduce the idea that we are bringing dinosaurs back to the mainland. How these dinosaurs escape captivity this time should be interesting. That shot of the alpha on the hunt and sniffing around while children sleep is certainly creepy. And we all know how well Bayona does at building tension and scares within his film. So it looks like we will see plenty of that in Fallen Kingdom.

Directed by Bayona, using a script written by Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom also stars BD Wong, James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Isabella Sermon and Jeff Goldblum.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs””along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Universal Pictures has scheduled Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom for a June 22, 2018 theatrical release.
