I stumbled upon this quite by accident but I had to do a quick spotlight to show it off! The Ghost, The Owl is possibly one of my top ten favorite graphic novels I have read this year. It’s a touching story about a lost soul who is on a journey of discovery. With the help of a newfound friend, the way is found but obstacles appear and the struggle begins.
This is a story of fierce protection, paying it forward, and above all it is a story about friendship and love. The tale within is heartbreaking but powerfully told. If everyone believed as fiercely as these protagonists did, the world would be vastly different. I loved this one and I hope you will, too!
On a cool evening on the swamp, a figure appears dancing across the water. A human figure, but far from a human form. A Ghost, a young girl spirit that seems to have lost its way. A good Samaritan owl decides to help against the wishes of his animal brethren. What mysteries does the ghost girl hold the secrets to and what will happen when she and the owl unlock them together? Will they find out what happened to her? Will she find her way to where she needs to be? What will happen to the animals in the swamp and surrounding forest? An adventure with the most unlikely of pairs, the Ghost, the Owl.
